Colleen Fitzpatrick, a.k.a. Pop Star Vitamin C, Named VP of Music at Nickelodeon
The singer behind millennial hits such as "Smile" and "Graduation" will oversee recording, production and performances for the network.
Nickelodeon today named Colleen Fitzpatrick -- a.k.a. the singer formerly known as Vitamin C, behind hits like 2000's "Graduation" and 1999's "Smile" -- its new vice president of music, tasking her with overseeing all music recording, production and performance for Nickelodeon and its channels, which include Nick Jr., Nicktoons and TeenNick. She will report to SVP, music and talent Doug Cohn.
More specifically, Fitzpatrick's new position will put her in charge of day-to-day A&R and on-site management for recording sessions and video shoots, as well as working with Nick's marketing and press divisions to coordinate their music initiatives.
"Colleen brings a vast wealth of knowledge of the music industry to this newly created role," said Cohn in a statement. "Her work with emerging and established talent is a testament to what a tremendous asset she will be to Nick as we continue to expand our foothold in the music space."
Fitzpatrick's accomplishments in the music industry are lengthy; she had previously created the licensing and publishing division of Collective Songs (subsidiary of The Collective), working with artists such as Linkin Park and Enrique Iglesias, and founded and co-owns VCR Productions. In addition to her multi-platinum success as Vitamin C, she also served as the lead singer of alt-rock band Eve's Plum, which released two albums on 550/Epic during the 1990s.
