Comedian Jon Lovitz to Launch Vodcast (Exclusive)
Comedian Jon Lovitz is launching a vodcast.
Lovitz's weekly vodcast (a podcast with a video element), Lovitz or Leavitz, will be taped every Saturday night at a new studio at his Jon Lovitz Comedy Club & Podcast Theatre at the Universal CityWalk, The Hollywood Reporter has learned exclusively.
They will air as a vodcast the following day on the new Jon Lovitz Vodcast Network, which launches June 30. Negotiations are currently underway for Loveitz or Leavitz to be live-streamed.
To kick off the new endeavor, comedian-actor Dana Carvey will reunite with his Saturday Night Live colleague for the first taping, slated for June 29. The show, which will air 7 p.m. Sundays on The Jon Lovitz Comedy Club website and its YouTube channel, will be in the vein of a "classic" talk show, featuring "humorous" and "lively" chats about a slew of topics with celebrities and/or experts and comedy sketches.
“Make no mistake about it. This is an actual talk show,” said Lovitz. “And because we don’t answer to network executives or censors, audiences can look forward to some pretty lively shows.”
Additional celebrity guests for upcoming vodcast shows will be announced shortly. Tickets for the Lovitz or Leavitz tapings are available at the box office or online at www.thejonlovitzcomedyclub.com.
The Jon Lovitz Vodcast Network will feature sports, politics and comedy. Planned shows include FYI Sports Talk with Robert Fick and Dmitri Young, the Talking Marijuana, Crabmans Rock 'n' Roll Revival, Controlled Kaos with Gary Garver and radio personality Frazer Smith.
