Comedian's Mocking of Justin Bieber Book Goes Viral
Gordon Pinsent's "This Hour has 22 Minutes" sketch about Justin Bieber's autobiography becomes an Internet sensation.
TORONTO -- Iconic Canadian thespian Gordon Pinsent has succumbed to Biebermania.
The 80-year-old actor has become an overnight YouTube sensation by donning a sombre suit and bow-tie and sitting fireside to read excerpts from Justin Bieber's just-published autobiography, First Step 2 Forever: My Story, for a satirical sketch comedy show, This Hour has 22 Minutes on the CBC.
Pinsent's dead-pan rendition drips in sarcasm, as when he recounts 16-year-old Bieber receiving his trademark swoosh haircut that apparently rendered him looking like Bart Simpson.
"Dear God," Pinsent uttered, while rubbing his eyes in anguish, "what he must have gone through."
This Hour has 22 Minutes, produced in Halifax, Nova Scotia, has become a national Canadian institution mocking the high and mighty, from Canadian politicians to celebrities.
