Comedy Central Eliminates Digital Division
In a consolidation move, executives at the cable network will now manage content across multiple platforms.
Comedy Central has consolidated its organizational structure, dismantling its digital department and expanding its executives' oversight to include content across multiple platforms.
"We've dismantled the department formerly known as 'digital' to create an organization that better serves our fans and advertisers," Comedy Central president Michele Ganeless said in a statement. "Our fans don't use the word 'digital' to talk about content and now, neither do we."
David Bernath, executive vp programming and multiplatform strategy, now oversees programming for Comedy Central across all platforms.
Chief marketing officer Walter Levitt will oversee marketing for the entire brand, including digital outreach efforts.
Steve Grimes also has been named to a newly created position of senior vp multiplatform strategy and development. Grimes, who previously oversaw Comedy Central's digital media team, is now working on multiplatform programming strategy and app development.
