Comedy Central Premieres Snapchat Original Series
'Swag-a-Saurus' stars James Davis and premieres Sept. 8.
Comedy Central is expanding its Snapchat programming with an original series developed exclusively for the mobile app.
The cable net, one of 14 publishers on Snapchat's Discover video platform, has premiered Swag-a-Saurus starring comedian James Davis. The weekly series will define popular slang and the first video features Davis explaining the term "Bye Felicia." New videos will appear on the Comedy Central Discover channel every Monday.
Swag-a-Saurus is the first of several new videos that Comedy Central plans to roll out on Snapchat this fall. Others include the Nikki Glaser-hosted sex series Quickie With Nikki, a news series with Yassir Lester, a Liza Treyger shopping show called Like It With Liza: Trust Me I'm Right and sketch series Now Hiring starring Michelle Wolf.
Comedy Central was part of Discover's launch earlier this year and has used the platform to post clips from many of its shows as well as teasers. On Sept. 8, the channel also featured a short promo with new Daily Show host Trevor Noah.
Snapchat also has experimented with original programming for Discover with scripted comedy Literally Can't Even, starring Sasha Spielberg and Emily Goldwyn, and talk show Pillow Talk with host Poppy Jamie.
