Company 3 Grows Its Talent Roster With Veteran Film Colorist Beau Leon (Exclusive)
His credits range from the documentary "Bombay Beach" to Lady Gaga's "You and I" music video.
Veteran colorist Beau Leon has joined Company 3, Deluxe’s digital intermediate and post production business that maintains bases in Los Angeles, London, New York, Atlanta and Chicago.
Leon’s artistic work spans long and short form projects, including indie films and documentaries such as Mark Pellington’s I Melt With You, Joseph Kahn’s Detention, and the Alma Har’el helmed Bombay Beach. He recently worked on HBO’s documentary series Witness.
Leon has also been the colorist on many high profile commercials and music videos. These include Lady Gaga’s You and I, Katy Perry’s E.T., Smashing Pumpkins’ Tonight Tonight, and Madonna’s Take A Bow.
At Company 3, Leon looks forward to further exploring long form. “I love the idea of being involved in telling a story, and creating a palette for long form,” he tells The Hollywood Reporter.
The colorist arrives at Company 3 following a stint at New Hat in Santa Monica. His hiring marks a reunion of sorts, as earlier in his career Leon was a colorist at Riot, which was Company 3’s sister company. (The Riot brand name has been retired.).
Leon will be based at the business’ Santa Monica facility and joins its international team of colorists including Stefan Sonnenfeld (Man of Steel), who is also president of Deluxe’s content creation group; Stephen Nakamura (Prometheus); Siggy Ferstl (Underworld Awakening); and Rob Pizzey (Frankenweenie).
