'Company You Keep' Trailer: Shia LaBeouf Investigates Robert Redford (Video)
The political thriller, which was produced and directed by Redford, will have its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival in September.
Robert Redford once played a determined reporter in All The President’s Men, but in his new film, The Company You Keep, he’ll pass on that role to Shia LaBeouf.
Redford, who also directed and produced the project, will instead play the man being investigated – a suspected member of ‘70s radical-left activist group The Weather Underground who has tried to create a new life for himself under a different name.

A new trailer for the thriller, which will screen at the Toronto Film Festival on Sept. 9 and 10, shows LaBeouf as Ben Shepard, an ambitious reporter who is digging into Jim Grant’s (Redford) past.
Sony Pictures Classics’ film boasts a star-heavy cast, featuring Anna Kendrick, Susan Sarandon, Stanley Tucci, Nick Nolte, Terrence Howard and Chris Cooper. Voltage Pictures produced and fully financed the political thriller, written by Lem Dobbs and based on Neil Gordon's 2003 novel.
LaBeouf has been making headlines recently after telling The Hollywood Reporter that he was “done” working on big blockbusters like Transformers.

The 26-year-old actor, who will attend the Venice Film Festival for the world premiere of The Company You Keep, told THR that he’s devoting his career to indie film and soon starts shooting Lars von Trier's Nymphomaniac.
"There's no room for being a visionary in the studio system. It literally cannot exist," he said.
