'Conan' at Comic-Con: Will Smith Teases 'Bright', 'Supernatural' Cast Celebrates With Keg Stand
The cast of CW's 'Supernatural' also joined the TBS show in San Diego.
Conan O'Brien kicked off his week of shows at Comic-Con with the casts of Bright and The CW's Supernatural, complete with standing ovations and a keg stand.
The show started with a Wonder Woman-themed opening sequence that saw O'Brien and Andy Richter road trip down to Comic-Con, and the host (after being kicked out of the car) flew and crash-landed on Themyscira. The warrior women were unimpressed.
Bright's Will Smith, Joel Edgerton, Noomi Rapace, Lucy Fry and director David Ayer joined him in San Diego first to discuss their upcoming supernatural cop film.
Smith described the movie as having "the energy of Training Day meets Lord of the Rings."
He also commended his director Ayer, who Smith said "knows how to get inside a human mind and stir it all up and say 'action!'"
Bright is set to debut on Netflix in December.
Supernatural's Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles stopped by next to talk about their long-running sci-fi show, including The CW show crossovers, Padalecki's wife appearing on the show and how many times each of their characters have died on air.
Padalecki, who worked with Richter on New York Minute, said his fellow actor gave the advice long ago, "make sure you don't die more than six times."
The group even celebrated Padalecki's birthday with a traditional keg stand.
Later this week, O'Brien will sit down with the casts of upcoming films Kingsman: The Golden Circle and The Lego Ninjago Movie, before concluding the themed week on Sunday with Alfie Allen, Jacob Anderson, John Bradley, Gwendoline Christie, Liam Cunningham, Nathalie Emmanuel, Conleth Hill, Sophie Turner and Isaac Hempstead Wright of Game of Thrones.
