Conan O’Brien Announces New Show Band

Longtime guitarist Jimmy Vivino will replace Max Weinberg in a new group called "The Basic Cable Band."
NEW YORK - Conan O'Brien's musical sidekick on his upcoming TBS show will be called The Basic Cable Band, and it will be made up of familiar faces for Conan fans.
With Max Weinberg out of the picture, Jimmy Vivino will become band leader for the Nov. 8 debut of Conan, TBS confirmed in a statement Tuesday as previous reports have suggested.
Vivino is the former associate music director, arranger, guitarist and vocalist for The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien and Late Night with Conan O’Brien.
The other members of The Basic Cable Band will be long-time Max Weinberg Band colleagues Scott Healy (keyboards), Mike Merritt (bass), Mark Pender (trumpet), Richie “LaBamba” Rosenberg (trombone), Jerry Vivino (saxophone, woodwinds and vocals), as well as James Wormworth (drums) who used to fill in for Weinberg when he used to go on tour with Bruce Springsteen.
