Conde Nast Entertainment Names Jeremy Steckler and Michael Klein to Executive Posts
Under president Dawn Ostroff, the publishing company's new film and TV division is ramping up.
As Dawn Ostroff ramps up the newly-created Conde Nast Entertainment Group, she has named Jeremy Steckler as executive vp of motion pictures and Michael Klein as executive vp of alternative programming.
Both executives will report to Ostroff, president of the publishing company’s new division, created in October to develop movies, TV shows and digital content from material in its magazine properties.
Steckler, based in Los Angeles, will be charged with acquiring and developing film properties. He was most recently executive vp of production at Imagine Entertainment, where he oversaw production and development of movies and television-to-film adaptations. Prior to that, he was senior vp of production at Fox Searchlight, where he was involved in such films as Black Swan, Juno and(500) Days of Summer. He also served stints at Di Bonaventura Pictures and at Spyglass Entertainment.
Klein, who will be responsible for the development and production of alternative programming, joins Conde Nast from the Sundance Channel, where he was senior vp for programming and development. Previous to that, he was senior vp of content for Travel Channel Media, and he also has held executive roles at Discovery Communications and TLC.
“Jeremy’s and Michael’s strengths, combined with the significant impact of our brands, present a huge opportunity for us to grow our business across traditional, digital and new platforms,” Ostroff said.
This week, Ostroff also named Maurie Perlas senior vp of media and communications for CNE, effective April 23. And earlier this year, she hired Jeffrey Thompson as vp of business development.
