Report: Republican demands full attention from Al FrankenCongress is no comedy stage! Senator Al Franken and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell can probably laugh about it now, but the two had a bit of a showdown Thursday, according to Politico.com.
As McConnell, a Kentucky Republican, laid out his opposition to Elena Kagan's Supreme Court nomination, Minnesota Democrat Franken "appeared to be moving around in his chair, gasping and rolling his eyes," it said in a report.
After his speech, McConnell approach the former comedian. "This isn't 'Saturday Night Live,' Al," McConnell told Franken, according to Politico, which cited people who overheard the exchange.
Franken later apologized to McConnell.
