Congressman Erupts at Sean Hannity Over 'Yellow Journalism' (Video)
UPDATED: “Quite frankly, you are the worst excuse for a journalist I’ve ever seen," Rep. Keith Ellison said during a guest appearance on Fox News Channel.
Democratic Congressman Keith Ellison excoriated Sean Hannity on Tuesday night for engaging in "yellow journalism" and called the Fox News Channel host "the worst excuse for a journalist I've ever seen."
And that was just in the first 20 seconds after Ellison was introduced.
Ellison, who represents Minnesota's 5th District, was there to discuss the “sequester,” the looming budget cuts that could go into effect absent a deal between Republicans and Democrats. He was reacting to Hannity’s three-minute introduction of the segment.
After showing President Barack Obama making a series of statements about scary things that could happen if the federal budget is cut, overlaid with ominous music -- Ellison exploded at Hannity.

"Quite frankly, you are the worst excuse for a journalist I’ve ever seen. It’s absurd," he said. "What you just displayed was not journalism, it was yellow journalism. It wasn't anything close to telling the American people what's really going on. I mean, it’s just shocking."
Hannity replied: "To play Obama in his own words is yellow journalism?"
The pair continued to spar throughout the nine-minute segment, and at one point Hannity ceded the floor to Ellison for a lengthy amount of time.
"I gave you three minutes to rant. Calm down," Hannity said. "Why are you so angry. … I’m laughing at you because I think, actually, this is comical."
Ellison shot back, "I'm laughing at you -- and it’s not the first time,"
He told Hannity toward the end, "You are immoral."
Shortly after that, Hannity said: "Congressman, you are a total waste of time. I'm moving on, because our audience deserves better."
