Disney and ESPN Media Networks executive Lori Conkling has been named head of distribution at Lifetime Networks, taking over part of Louise Henry Bryson's duties following the announcement of her retirement.

Conkling, who becomes executive vp distribution effective March 1, has been vp national accounts at Disney and ESPN Media Networks since 2004, responsible for executing multiproduct national distribution deals for linear channels, VOD and pay-per-view services, broadband products and interactive TV applications.

In that role, she has negotiated on behalf of Disney, ESPN, ABC and ABC News, among others. Before that, she was director of national accounts at the ABC Cable Networks Group.

Conkling will report to Lifetime Networks president and CEO Andrea Wong, a former ABC executive herself. Conkling will oversee all distribution for Lifetime Television, Lifetime Movie Network and Lifetime Real Women. She also will supervise the expansion of new and existing platforms, including Lifetime VOD, Lifetime and LMN HD and LMN en Espanol on-demand.

"Lori's strong relationships and vast experience in executing long-term, multiproduct deals and creating highly successful marketing campaigns with distribution partners will make her a valuable addition to the Lifetime team," Wong said.

Bryson, who was president of distribution and affiliate business development at Lifetime Networks and executive vp and GM at LMN, said last week that she is retiring at the end of May but will help with the transition.

Lifetime has not yet announced a replacement for Bryson as head of LMN.
