Emmy-nominated actress Connie Britton is going from playing a TV mom to becoming one in real life.
The Friday Night Lights and American Horror Story star has apoted a 9-month-old baby boy Yoby -- a nickname for his given name Eyob -- from Ethiopia, People reports. The 44-year-old actress began the adoption process three years ago.
"I am thanking my lucky stars every day," Britton told People.
Britton, who also appeared in the Friday Night Lights movie that led up to the NBC/DirecTV drama, recalled the moment she held her new son.
"It was such a wonderful moment of completion. I thought I was going to collapse into a puddle of tears," she said. "I was just grinning from ear to ear."
Britton currently stars in Ryan Murphy's FX horror drama American Horror Story, which was already renewed for a second season.
There has been talk about a potential Friday Night Lights reunion movie. Executive producer Jason Katims told THR earlier this year that he was “very serious” about making the film happen and that the project is very much at the beginning stages.
“Right now we’re trying to figure out the story that we want to tell,” he said. “That’s something we hope will happen. What’s important for [the TV series’ cast] to know is what story we’re telling. They have such pride in the show and care so much about those characters. Before any serious conversations go on, we want to make sure that we have a great story.”
