Connor Cruise Defends His Caitlyn Jenner ESPY Twitter Rant

"We just need to as a nation and a world get back to business and making everything a better place."

Connor Cruise has clarified his Twitter remarks that criticized the ESPYs for announcing Caitlyn Jenner will receive the Arthur Ashe Courage Award at the awards show this year.

"Really?? Winning the AA award for courage?? Ashton is gonna come out and yell PUNK'D," tweeted Cruise, who later deleted the rant.

“Don’t get me wrong. Do what you feel like doing, and don’t let anyone stop you. But everyone is taking this way too seriously. … There are so many more important things that should be talked about … and SO MANY MORE IMPORTANT PEOPLE that actually deserve an award” wrote Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman's son. "Like the fact that we are overfishing, and in 30 years there will be no more fish. Seems dumb, but 85 percent of the worlds protein is fish," continued Connor.

He also talked about the world's population increase, the environment, war and poverty. Most of the tweets have been deleted since, and on Wednesday night, he said people criticizing him were "twisting" what he said. "I am glad she is happy," wrote Connor. "We just need to as a nation and a world get back to business and making everything a better place."
