Michael Corcoran on Tuesday was named president of consumer products and recreation group at Paramount.

Corcoran will oversee the studio's worldwide licensing, consumer products and themed entertainment activities as well leading licensing and merchandising programs that involve theme parks, toys, apparel, themed restaurants and book publishing.

He will report to Paramount vice chairman Rob Moore, who made Tuesday's announcement. Moore also said that executive vp licensing Michael Bartok will continue in his role and will now report to Corcoran.

Corcoran joins Paramount after serving in several senior marketing, finance and operations roles at NBC Universal, including executive vp, chief administrative officer and CFO of Universal Parks and Resorts.

"The consumer products and recreation market is evolving rapidly, and I'm excited to have Michael join our team as we explore new and unique opportunities to extend the Paramount brand both domestically and abroad," Moore said.
