Craig Singer to Direct Mob Drama 'Monkey's Nest'

Craig Singer, a former digital executive at Disney, has signed on to direct the mob drama Monkey's Nest.

Mickey Rourke has been in talks to star in the film that former boxing champ Ray Mancini is producing.

The story centers on a single father with mob connections, who battles to keep his daughter from falling in love with a mob associate.

Singer directed such indies as Animal Room, which featured a young Neil Patrick Harris, and Lionsgate’s Dark Ride starring Jamie-Lynn Sigler.

Ted Kurdyla also is producing Monkey’s Nest.

In 2008, Singer sold his social media company FanLib to Disney and took on a creative VP role at the company.
