CTV extends Super Bowl rights
Ad rates for Sunday's game were upTORONTO -- Canadian broadcaster CTV has extended its domestic Super Bowl rights deal with the National Football League for four years to 2013.
Terms of the renewal deal were not disclosed, but will see CTV retain the exclusive Canadian rights to the Super Bowl game, the NFL Playoffs and an Sunday early afternoon game package.
The deal follows CTV achieving an advertising sellout for its broadcast of Super Bowl XLIV on Sunday from Miami, with ad rates up slightly compared with last year.
CTV's partnership with the NFL started in 2007 when the Canadian broadcaster wrested the domestic broadcast rights from rival Canwest Global Communications Corp.
