The world of the CW's "Smallville" just got a little bigger with the creation of a new animated wireless series based on the network drama.

"Smallville Legends: The Oliver Queen Chronicles," a six-episode shortform series spawned through a partnership between the Warner Bros. Television Group, the CW and Sprint, will premiere today exclusively on the Sprint TV mobile video service.

"Our goal at Warner Bros. Television is to look for unique, innovative ways to entertain and engage our fans, resulting in a deeper connection to our shows and providing value to our broadcast partners," said Lisa Gregorian, executive vp worldwide marketing at Warner Bros. Television Group. "This partnership with the CW and Sprint enables us to deliver exceptional wireless entertainment which provides a multilayered experience for viewers."

Created for mobile and broadband environments, a new episode will launch on subsequent Thursdays with the entire series available for streaming at www.CWTV.com beginning Feb. 22.

Additionally, Yahoo! TV on Wednesday began streaming a preview of the first act of a key episode of "Smallville" the day before its network broadcast.

The episode, titled "Justice" and the preview available at tv.yahoo.com, plays a pivotal role in the show's story line as it chronicles the beginning of a new heroic alliance.

Yahoo! also will present a feature package showcasing the superheroes and villains of the show, while a special photo gallery will accompany exclusive quotes from the stars of the series.
