'The Daily Show' Team Performs "I'll Be Missing You" Farewell Ode to Ben Carson
"You sucked at debates, a bad candidate, I'll be missing you."
Trevor Noah said goodbye to Ben Carson's presidential campaign on Monday's The Daily Show.
The host joked about how Carson couldn't even "muster any energy" when he announced he was suspending his presidential campaign, saying he sounded like he was "deciding whether or not to have fries" with his order.
Roy Wood Jr. joined Noah, to defend Carson, saying that before his campaign, "black people used to look up to him" as an esteemed doctor and role model. Wood lamented losing "another black hero" saying, "Black people can't afford to lose heroes, we don't have that many."
"We're down to Obama and Shonda Rhimes," said Wood.
Then the duo introduced a farewell ode to Carson. Jessica Williams sang a rewritten rendition of "I'll Be Missing You" as Wood danced around.
"Every nap you take," sang Williams, "Every belt you break, you sucked at debates, a bad candidate, I'll be missing you."
