“It’s time society finally accepted that a man’s body changes when he has kids."

Jon Stewart and Kristen Schaal discussed the dad bod trend on the Daily Show on Tuesday.

A "dad bod" is a male body consisting of "undefined abs with a little bit of flab." Schaal mocked the trend of celebrating this body type by saying, "What a great day for men!" She continued, “It’s time society finally accepted that a man’s body changes when he has kids. He spent nine months eating too much because his pregnant wife is stressing him out, and then there’s a scream-y baby at home, so he’s got to get out for pizza and beer as much as he can! It’s just biology, Jon.”

Stewart asked if maybe the dad bod trend will open the door for mom bods to be equally celebrated. "Women will never be able to relax about their bodies the way that men can," said Schaal. She then showed clips of women, dubbed "momshells," being complimented for losing weight after having a baby.

Schaal ended the segment by asking Stewart to show off his "mostly adequate physique." "Show off how your looks are not what society values most in you," said Schaal.
