'Daily Show's' Jon Stewart, Friend of Anthony Weiner, Will Cover Scandal in Tonight's Show

"No story breaks too late for 'The Best F---ing News Team on the Planet'!" the show's staff tweets Monday.

Fear not, Daily Show fans: Jon Stewart will be covering the scandal involving old pal Anthony Weiner on his show Monday night.

The congressman's admission that he had sent sexually suggestive photos to several woman via the Internet came later in the day on the East Coast, where the Comedy Central show tapes, but the show's staff tweeted Monday that the news will be part of that night's broadcast.

"Yes, we will be 'covering' #ShirtlessWeiner tonight on the show!" the tweet read. "No story breaks too late for 'The Best F---ing News Team on the Planet'!"

Stewart hasn't shied away from the scandal so far despite the fact that Weiner is a friend.

On Wednesday's show, he joked: "I'm not certain of a lot of things. But there are three things in this world that I know for certain: Empire Strikes Back is the best Star Wars movie. OJ killed those people. And what my erect penis looks like in my own underwear from a bird's-eye view." [Watch video below.]

He also discussed the pros and cons of covering the story in the same episode: "Here's my dilemma: We are looking at story about a snapshot that appears to be an ample helping of penis allegedly posted by a congressman whose name is a synonym for penis.

"The cons of this story is: This is my friend Anthony. This guy's a friend of mine. As a comedian this is a slam-dunk, Weiner name, weiner picture. But as friend, I really hope that this story is not true."

Despite his misgivings about his personal connection to the Congressman, Stewart showed the picture of the crotch shot and joked, "The only thing that Anthony Weiner and this gentleman here appear to have in common is that they both lean hard to the extreme left.

"In real life, my memory is that this cat had a lot more Anthony and a lot less Weiner. This is not what I remember."
