Chic and easy.

The Look: A backless wrap blouse in white stretch cady, which were paired with cropped skinny trousers in black stretch cotton sateen from Rosetta Getty's pre-fall 2017 collection.

The Wearer: Fifty Shades Darker star Dakota Johnson, styled by Kate Young.

The Event: The American Society of Cinematographers Awards on Saturday, where the actress was joined on the carpet by Samuel L. Jackson and Denzel Washington.

Why It Matters: Though born in Texas and raised throughout the country, Johnson's easy, relaxed style is the epitome of effortless California cool. So it makes sense that the actress would look right at home in an ensemble by Silver Lake-native Rosetta Getty. The designer, who was raised on a commune in the Los Angeles neighborhood, was herself a model from ages 14-19, and later enrolled in L.A.'s Otis College of Art and Design, where she studied fashion design. Getty's husband, actor Balthazar Getty, is a descendant of the oil tycoon whose trust founded the Getty Museums in L.A. — and the designer's love of art and her artistic inspirations are often praised by critics of her work. The sharp lines of Johnson's look, which stylist Young paired with Cartier earrings and minimalist heels, and the messy-on-purpose half-bun up-do were a match made in fashion heaven.

Where to Buy: The look will be available for purchase at Net-a-Porter, Forty Five Ten, Neapolitan, Moda Operandi and RosettaGetty.com later this year. (Prices are not yet available.)
