'Dallas Buyers Club' Co-Writer Signs With Anonymous Content (Exclusive)
Screenwriter Melisa Wallack has signed with Anonymous Content, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
She and Craig Borten are co-nominees for original screenplay at the Academy Awards this weekend for Dallas Buyers Club. It was Wallack’s first script, written a decade ago at the start of the film’s famously long route to the Dolby Theatre. The duo also received a WGA nomination this year for the work.
The Skidmore College graduate was named one of Variety’s “10 Screenwriters to Watch” in 2005. Two years later, she wrote and co-directed the indie dramedy Meet Bill, starring Aaron Eckhart, Jessica Alba and Elizabeth Banks. She received a story credit for the Julia Roberts Snow White comedy Mirror Mirror, and also has written a draft of Universal’s adaptation of the Dark Horse graphic novel Emily the Strange, with Chloe Grace Moretz attached to star.
Wallack also is repped by Resolution and attorney Howard Abramson of Behr & Abramson.
