Dani Levy shooting new film in Berlin
Comedy stars Markus Hering, Veronica FerresCOLOGNE, Germany -- After his high profile, if critically panned, Adolf Hitler comedy "Mein Fuhrer," Swiss-born director Dani Levy is looking to the German film industry for inspiration in his new comedy, "Das Leben ist zu lang" (Life Is Too Long).
The feature, which has just begun shooting in Berlin, follows a Jewish-German film director who tries to escape the chaos of his professional and family life by committing suicide. Austrian stage actor Markus Hering stars in an ensemble cast that includes veterans Veronica Ferres, Udo Kier, Heino Ferch and Steffen Groth.
Levy's production shingle X Filme Creative Pool is producing "Das Leben ist zu Lang" together with Warner Bros. in Germany. X Filme's distribution arm X Verleih will release the title locally.
