Danielle Gelber Joins Wolf Films as Executive Producer
The former Showtime Networks senior vp also will have an exec vp title and will be responsible for scripted development at the Universal Media Studios-based company.
TV veteran Danielle Gelber has joined Wolf Films as an executive producer, having also a corporate executive vp title, company CEO Dick Wolf said.
“I am thrilled and excited that Danielle has decided to join Wolf Films,” said Wolf, creator and executive producer of the Law & Order frachise. “I have been a huge fan since she, Bob (Greenblatt), and I worked together on New York Undercover on Fox in the mid 1990s. I look forward to her taste, intelligence and knowledge of the writing community energizing our development.”
Gelber’s new duties include all scripted development for the Universal Media Studios-based company, and she will be working directly with Wolf and the president of the company, Peter Jankowski.
"I'm personally thrilled that Danielle is joining Wolf Films,” NBC Entertainment chairman Bob Greenblatt said. “Having worked closely with her for years at both FBC and Showtime, I don't have higher esteem for many television executives in this business. Dick and NBC will be the beneficiaries of her extraordinary talent, taste, and class."
Gelber has been senior vp original programming at Showtime Networks for eight years, where she was behind the successful series as The Big C and the multi-Emmy-nominated Weeds, among others. Before that, she was senior vp drama series programming at Fox and developed such series as The X-Files, Party of Five, Melrose Place and Beverly Hills: 90210.
Wolf Films has also produced the Academy Award-winning documentary short Twin Towers and the Grammy Award-winning and Emmy-nominated When You’re Strange, a documentary on the Doors.
