Hollywood’s hippest turned out on Friday night to see what all the fuss was about behind Marc by Marc Jacobs fall/winter collection — the first offering from new design team Katie Hillier and Luella Bartley. And it did not disappoint.
Throughout the evening, models in aviator-inspired jumpsuits and playful oversized bows floated through the crowd which gathered in the boutique’s outdoor courtyard for tunes by DJ Michelle Pesce, and a performance by the Emily Armstrong-fronted L.A. rock band Dead Sara, which has garnered a serious fan base since touring with Muse last year.
Partygoers making an appearance amidst the sea of braids, fedoras and neon-hued tresses included Danny Masterson (who was spotted hanging with his stylist, Ilaria Urbinati, for most of the evening), as well as talk show host Keke Palmer, and an overall-clad Shenae Grimes who arrived arm-in-arm with her husband, Josh Beech. Bobbing her head at the front of the pack throughout the performance was songstress Michelle Branch, who artfully paired a leopard-print Clare V. clutch with a Victorian Marc Jacobs blouse for the occasion.
“We have similar friends so I’ve been following the band for a while,” she said. “This was kind of like a double-whammy — a party with Marc Jacobs and the music I love.” But whether the neighbors loved the show as much as Branch is highly unlikely; rumor has it the cops were called several times during the high-octane performance.
