Digital Entertainment Group tagged Warner Home Video's "The Dark Knight" best in show as part of the industry trade organization's DVD awards, announced Thursday at CES in Las Vegas.

"Dark Knight" was lauded for "unsurpassed clarity and sound on Blu-ray Disc" as well as topping all titles last year for combined DVD and Blu-ray sales, with 13.5 million units sold globally in its first week of release.

Amazon copped DEG's retailer laurels. Best Buy and Sixth Avenue Electronics were honored for "consumer education of new entertainment technologies through demonstration of products, promotions and key advertising."

DEG also handed out awards honoring digital-entertainment products. Pioneer took awards for visual and sound innovation for its HD televisions and audio receivers, while Panasonic copped honors for a Blu-ray player. (partialdiff)
