Darren Aronofsky Helms Anti-Meth PSAs (Video)
The "Black Swan” director created some harrowing clips for The Meth Project’s latest campaign.
Darren Aronofsky has proven that he’s got the market on dark and twisted films cornered, so why would his 30-second PSAs be any different?
The Black Swan director has lent his signature style to a series of ads for the Meth Project’s latest campaign.
The graphic television spots show teens reflecting upon the questions they might have asked before ever trying the drug as the harsh reality of their life on Meth unfolds. The teens in the videos, which have titles like “Deep End,” “Desperate,” and “ER,” deal with depression, loss of control and suicide.

The new campaign aims to educate teens about meth-related problems through a series of TV and radio ads, along with the website, MethProject.org — an encyclopedic online source of information about Meth for teens.
Aronofsky is not the first from Hollywood to team with the Project. The Dark Knight and Inception director of photography Wally Pfister, Babel director Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu and American History X director Tony Kaye have all worked with the organization.
Meth Project launched in 2006 with the goal of significantly reducing Meth use through public service messaging, public policy, and community outreach.
