David O. Russell Auctions Speaking Role in New Movie for Charity
The director's untitled film, formerly dubbed "American Bullshit," stars Christian Bale, Jennifer Lawrence, Jeremy Renner and Bradley Cooper.
How much does it cost to score a speaking role in a David O. Russell movie?
Thousands of dollars, but it's all for a good cause. The Silver Linings Playbook director is auctioning off a cameo on his upcoming untitled film starring Christian Bale, Jennifer Lawrence, Jeremy Renner, Bradley Cooper, Amy Adams and Louis CK.
Valued at $50,000, the experience (now up for bid on the website charitybuzz) will benefit the Kenny Gordon Foundation, which provides a college scholarship for underprivileged kids, among other charitable efforts. Bidding ends March 27.
Formerly dubbed American Bullshit, the new Russell movie centers on con artist Mel Weinberg, who worked with the FBI in a far-reaching corruption case that stretched from Atlantic City to Washington, D.C. Annapurna is fully financing the film, tentatively set for release in late 2013.
