Decode, Mememe team for 'dirtgirlworld'
Will produce 26 half-hours of cartoon seriesTORONTO -- Canadian cartoon producer Decode Entertainment has joined with Australia's Mememe Prods. to develop "dirtgirlworld" as a Canadian-Australian co-production.
Decode and Mememe will produce 26 half-hours of the cartoon about a gumboot-wearing girl and her backyard friends for Australia's ABC, the BBC preschool channel CBeebies and the Canadian Broadcasting Corp.
Decode will handle worldwide distribution and merchandising and licensing rights for the series, excluding the U.K., where BBC Worldwide will rep "dirtgirlworld."
Mememe Prods., whose principals Cate McQuillen and Hewey Eustace created "dirtgirlworld" for older preschoolers, will retain the Australian rights.
