Deluxe sees market for Southland buy

Deluxe Media Management has acquired the assets of Southland Display Co., whose business includes in-theater marketing installations. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Southland Display services about 2,000 cinemas across the U.S. Per the deal with Deluxe, Southland Display founder Steve Claro has been named vp in-theater marketing at Deluxe Media Management, the U.S.-based marketing fulfillment division of Deluxe Entertainment Services Group. Southland's business operation will move from Irwindale, Calif., to the Deluxe Media Management headquarters in Valencia, Calif.

Deluxe's Valencia operation manages physical and digital marketing materials for studio and television network clients worldwide. The in-theater marketing unit will complete the package of standee/banner services to exhibitors in the U.S. and for conventions both domestically and internationally.

"With a majority of marketing materials being shipped by Deluxe Media Management already, it makes sense for us to join forces with Southland," Deluxe Media Management president Michael Alvarez Jr. said.

"(Deluxe) will continue to be aggressive and proactive in building our business to better service our clients," he added, noting that this might include additional acquisitions.
