The Ladies Wear the Pants at Billboard's Women in Music Event
Girls run the world, after all.
It's been a week of women empowerment. The celebration of the entertainment industry's leading ladies continued on Friday at the Billboard Women in Music event, where pop stars Selena Gomez, Hailee Steinfeld, Ciara and Lady Gaga — Billboard's Woman of the Year — gathered at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York to honor the achievements of female musicians this year.
While there was plenty of shimmer (Gomez's Rodarte dress) and skin (Lady Gaga and Ciara's two-piece numbers), many of the attendees also opted to wear the pants. Demi Lovato arrived in an all-black pantsuit that featured a blazer with a plunging neckline. Talk about workin' that confidence.
Trailblazer Honoree Lana Del Rey and Breakthrough Honoree Tori Kelly also joined Lovato in the pants-wearing club, with Del Rey covering up in head-to-toe black with a jacquard jacket and pointy pumps and Kelly in a Tamara Mellon leopard jumpsuit that had just a sliver of a shoulder cut-out.
