'Desperate Housewives' Premiere: What the Viewers Are Saying
The eighth and final season opener of the ABC series took a 28 percent ratings drop Sunday, making it the show's lowest-rated start ever.
Sunday night's final season premiere of Desperate Housewives saw a 3.1 rating with 9.7 million viewers. Those numbers made it the lowest-rated premiere in the ABC show's eight-year history.

Despite a shrinking viewership, fans (mostly female) took to Twitter to discuss, many tweeting back to star Eva Longoria's Twitter request, "Today is the day! Season 8 is here! Who is watching Desperate Housewives tonight?!!"

Ashley Settingiano wasn't disappointed with the show's first bow. "Desperate Housewives is back!! :) Loving this first episode," she said.

While Samantha Michelson seemed a little nostalgic: "Season premiere of the last season of Desperate Housewives. This is so bittersweet."

Though Richelle Ryan didn't agree. "I've been watching Desperate Housewives since season 1 but it's starting to get a little to predictable now..... booo :( #badwriters," she commented.
Loukia echoed that sentiment, "Tonight's episode of Desperate Housewives brought to you by the movie I Know What You Did Last Summer."
"Why they are canceling Desperate Housewives is beyond me! New series opener is hilarious!," wrote Paul Andrew Taylor.
Drew Auer tweeted, "I have been a dedicated Desperate Housewives fan for years. And for good reason. Thanks girls ya did good! #season8bringiton."
