Also scheduled to appear at the organization's annual gala are Kesha, Zendaya and Leona Lewis.

Diane Warren may be best known for her talented fingers as one of the most prolific songwriters in the music business, but she's also a noted animal rights activist. The Humane Society of the United States knows her for the latter, which is why they've selected Warren to receive its Humanitarian of the Year award for her efforts on behalf of farm animal welfare.

Rising star Zendaya will present Warren with the honor at Paramount studios during the organization's May 7 gala, To the Rescue: Saving Animal Lives. Moby will handle hosting duties, and he's expected to provide a rundown of historic progress for the safety and fair treatment of farm animals.

Warren and Zendaya spent some time in the studio together in 2015, and most recently collaborated on the track "This is for My Girls," alongside Missy Elliott, Kelly Clarkson, Kelly Rowland, Janelle Monae, Lea Michele, Chloe x Halle and Jadagrace for First Lady Michelle Obama and her Let Girls Learn Initiative.

Also newsworthy: The gala (farm-to-table-style) dinner will feature performances by Kesha and Leona Lewis. More information on the event can be found here
