'Diary of a Teenage Girl' Trailer: Kristen Wiig Warns Bel Powley of Her Sexual Power (Video)

"I know nothing's changed, but everything looks totally different to me now."

"I get distracted sometimes, overwhelmed by my all-consuming thoughts about sex and men," admits a newly-awakened Bel Powley in the Diary of a Teenage Girl trailer. "I know nothing's changed, but everything looks totally different to me now."

Directed by Marielle Heller, the sexual coming-of-age drama is based on Phoebe Gloeckner's graphic novel of the same name, tracking the life of teenage artist Minnie who sleeps with her mother's boyfriend (Alexander Skarsgard). The adaptation, which garnered favorable reviews during its Sundance debut, also stars Christopher Meloni, as well as Kristen Wiig as Minnie's mother.

"You have a kind of power, you know — you just don't know it yet," warns Wiig. "I don't want to brag, but I was quite a piece when I was your age."

The Diary of a Teenage Girl hits limited theaters Aug. 7, via Sony Pictures Classics.
