Diller says IAC to announce new content

NEW YORK -- IAC/InterActiveCorp. chief executive Barry Diller said Tuesday that IAC will announce several new content initiatives within the next two to three months.

Now is an ideal time to pursue such plans given the rise in use of video online, Diller said.

"If I ever could think about when there is a better time to start the program business of the Internet, it is literally this second," he said at the Citigroup Global Entertainment, Media & Telecommunications Conference in Las Vegas.

He noted the New York-based IAC's purchase of CollegeHumor.com and said the company would soon launch a satirical comedy news site in partnership with The Huffington Post.

"Two other, I think, dominoes will fall in the next 60 to 90 days," he said. "Now is the perfect time to invest and purchase things you think are interesting," Diller said.

IAC is poised for a turnaround in its Home Shopping Network channel and would use its search engine Ask.com as "the glue" that ties together the company's wide-ranging Internet ventures, such as Ticketmaster, Citysearch, LendingTree.com and others, Diller said.
