Dimension 'Buried' in Odd Lot deal

Dimension Films has dug up U.S. distribution rights to "Buried Alive" from Odd Lot Entertainment's Dark Lot genre banner.

Directed by Robert Kurtzman ("Wishmaster"), "Buried" stars Tobin Bell (the "Saw" trilogy), Terence Jay ("Green Street Hooligans") and newcomer Leah Rachel.

Odd Lot International is handling international sales for the film at the European Film Market, the companies said Friday.

Produced by Odd Lot Entertainment's Deborah Del Prete and Gigi Pritzker and co- produced by Linda McDonough with an original screenplay by Art Monterastelli ("The Hunted"), "Buried" centers on a college prank gone wrong. It begins when a group of students travel to an abandoned house in an isolated desert canyon for a sorority initiation, but a member of the group has a secret agenda to unearth a fortune buried by his great-grandfather. It all leads to an empty coffin, a fatal curse and a ghost who seeks vengeance on his family's bloodline.

"We are excited to be in business with Gigi and Deborah and the talented team at Odd Lot, and we think that Robert has created a fantastic and terrifying film that will have people on the very edge of their seats," said Michelle Krumm, executive vp acquisitions and co-productions for the Weinstein Co.
