Dimensions TV, eOne Pact on 'Death in the Modern Age' Series
TORONTO -- Dimension TV is partnering with Entertainment One Television on Death in the Modern Age, from writer/creators Josh Shaffer, and Eli Kooris and Bob Cooper's Landscape Entertainment.
The series centers on a down-on-his-luck suburban guy who has always played by the rules and who decides to radically reinvent himself by plotting his own death in order to start a new life.
In the era of DNA testing, digital footprints and a lack of anonymity, his escape and transformation prove to be easier said than done.
Landscape Entertainment's Cooper and Michael Fuchs were earlier attached to produce the pilot for eOne.
Now Dimension TV has entered the partnership.
"I'm looking forward to working with Landscape and eOne to put together a gripping and original show," said Bob Weinstein, co-chairman of The Weinstein Company, in a statement Tuesday.
"The Weinsteins consistently set the bar for creating exceptional, character-driven content, and we are thrilled to expand eOne's successful relationship with them from film to television,” added John Morayniss, CEO of eOne Television, in his own statement.
eOne releases film titles from The Weinstein Company in Canada as part of a long-standing output deal.
Back on the TV side, eOne and Landscape recently renewed their first look deal.
Matthew Signer and Keith Levine will oversee production for Dimension TV, with Morayniss and Michael Rosenberg on board from eOne Television, and Sandy Shenkman overseeing for Landscape.
