Dinner of Champions to honor Aviv
Event raises funds to aid the National MS SocietyWalt Disney Studios Motion Picture Production president Oren Aviv will be honored at the 34th annual Dinner of Champions.
The gala is one of the big stops on the fundraising circuit and is sponsored by and benefiting the Southern California Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
The gala event will take place on Thursday, September 25, 2008 at the Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles. The event raises funds that will aid in research, programs and services that the National MS Society supports throughout the year.
Under the guidance of chair Tom Sherak, the Dinner of Champions has raised $34.5 million in the last 15 years.
The 2008 dinner chairs will be Byron Allen, Joe Roth and Tom Sherak. Honorary dinner chairs will be Walt Disney president and CEO Robert A. Iger and Walt Disney Studios chairman Richard W. Cook.
Previous honorees have included Sir Howard Stringer, Steven Hilton, Peter Chernin, Joe Roth, Amy Pascal, Jim Gianopulos, Bob and Harvey Weinstein, Tom Rothman, Michael Lynton and most recently Rob Moore.
Last year's event raised $2.5 million.
