He was "born July 10th, exactly six months after his grandad made room for him. Love you both so."

Duncan Jones, son of the late David Bowie and director of the recently released film Warcraft (an adaptation of the video game series), announced on Friday the birth of his own son, Stenton David Jones.

The proud dad revealed the news on Twitter, noting that his baby boy was “born July 10th, exactly six months after his grandad made room for him. Love you both so.”

Bowie, who would have been a first-time grandfather, passed away in January after a battle with cancer.

“All my love and awe to the incredible @rodeneronquillo who made a human being in her belly,” Jones tweeted about his wife, Rodene Ronquillo. “Warrior woman & every day, my hero.”

In reply to messages of congratulations from his Twitter followers, he wrote: “Thank you all for the incredibly kind well wishes. I shall honor them by now changing a poopy diaper. Love to all.”
