Saban, who has had a seat on the board since December 2004, recently reacquired the Power Rangers franchise from Disney.
White also said at DirecTV's annual shareholders meeting, his first since taking over a few months ago, that his "goal is to build on DirecTV's track record and to accelerate innovative creativity."
The satellite TV giant's push into 3D channels also was a hot topic Thursday. The company said it will begin carrying ESPN 3D on June 11, in time for the opening game of soccer's FIFA World Cup.
