DirecTV Appoints Leader to Digital Entertainment Products Group
Satellite TV company also makes promotion in sales & marketing.
DirecTV has announced that Tony Goncalves will lead a new division of its company responsible for entertainment initiatives across all mobile, tablet, Web, native apps, third-party devices and video on-demand platforms. As the senior vice president of the new Digital Entertainment Products group, Goncaives will be tasked with strategic leadership on the advancing technological front.

Goncalves joined the company in 2007. Most recently, he was senior vice president of Product Management, and has been credited with working with the engineering group on new products and services that generated over $4 billion in annual revenue in pay per view movies and events, sports packages and premium channels. In his new position, he will report to DirecTV CEO Mike White.
"As technology changes at a rapid pace, we must constantly challenge ourselves to think in new and creative ways to meet the evolving needs of our customers," said White. "I'm extremely pleased to have an executive of Tony's caliber leading this critical initiative," said White.

DirecTV has also announced that Paul Guyardo will assume the new title of executive vice president, chief revenue & marketing officer of DirecTV. He was previously chief marketing officer, leading sales and distribution channels as well as branding and customer relation endeavors. He will now be charged with leading ad sales on both traditional and digital platforms.
