LONDON -- Discovery Networks Europe has signed a video-on-demand content deal with leading European digital film distributor Arts Alliance Media for more than 45 titles, including "Mythbusters," "John Lydon's Mega Bugs" and "Extreme Engineering," the companies said Tuesday.

"This agreement underscores our commitment to extend Discovery's quality content across multiple media platforms in order to provide increased flexibility, convenience and control to consumers," Discovery Networks Europe executive vp and general manager U.K. Dan Brooke said. "By providing some of Discovery's best content for download rental to LOVEFiLM users, we can now reach new viewers for our television networks and give fans more ways to extend their enjoyment of their favorite programs."

Added AAM president Mark Livingstone: "We are thrilled to announce this partnership with Discovery, and are excited to be expanding our VOD offering to include high-caliber TV content to customers, giving them the option to download shorter material in addition to our full length features."

Discovery titles cost between £1.49 ($2.82) and £1.99 ($3.78) per episode, allowing customers between five and seven days to view their chosen downloaded program.

This deal adds to AAM's existing roster of feature film content from such studios as Warner Bros., Sony Pictures, Universal, Momentum and Tartan.
