Discovery, Bear Grylls team for new series
Six episodes of 'Worst Case Scenario' ordered for spring
Discovery is teaming with Bear Grylls on a new series where the adventurer shows how to survive in life-threatening situations.
"Worst Case Scenario" is based on the best-selling book series by the same title and features Grylls showing viewers how to escape urban and natural disasters, from fending off a shark attack to surviving inside a falling elevator.
The series could be seen as a spin-off to Grylls' popular "Man vs. Wild," where the host teaches more general outdoor survival skills.
"'Worst Case Scenario' is a much different take on survival than 'Man vs. Wild,'" said Clark Bunting, president and general manager of Discovery Channel. "It features Bear in all his physicality using an urban backdrop to set up everyday scenarios viewers could encounter at any time."
Six episodes have been ordered from Pilgrim Films & TV for a spring premiere.
