Discovery Networks International Names John Honeycutt COO
The unit of Discovery Communications also promoted CFO Doug Baker to the role of executive vp & CFO.
NEW YORK - Discovery Communications' Discovery Networks International said Thursday it has promoted John Honeycutt to the post of executive vp & COO and promoted CFO Doug Baker to the role of executive vp & CFO.
The announcement was made by Mark Hollinger, president and CEO of DNI, to whom both report.
“John and Doug both possess keen strategic vision that has been invaluable to growing Discovery's aggressive and successful international business,” said Hollinger. “With their combined leadership, we have created a streamlined and dynamic organization with much greater transparency - enhancing collaboration and growth opportunities in each region and DNI as a whole.”
Honeycutt, previously executive vp and head of international business operations, will as COO be charged with working closely with Hollinger and the company's four regional presidents and managing directors in formulating strategies. He also leads the coordination of DNI’s corporate support services, including production & operations, as well as legal and government relations.
Honeycutt joined Discovery in 2003 from Fox Cable Networks, initially serving as senior vp of broadcast operations. Baker joined Discovery in 2005 as CFO for Discovery Commerce after leaving Hallmark.
