Discovery Networks International Promotes Doug Baker to COO Post
He will continue to serve as CFO of the international arm of the cable networks company.
LONDON – Discovery Communications on Tuesday promoted Doug Baker to the role of COO and CFO of its Discovery Networks International unit.
Baker already serves as executive vp and CFO for DNI and will transition into the COO role over the next few weeks.
He will report to recently named DNI president JB Perrette and Discovery Communications CFO Andrew Warren.

Baker will now have oversight of DNI strategy and research in addition to leading all financial aspects.

Baker has worked on key deals such as the acquisitions of SBS Discovery Media in the Nordics and a majority ownership stake in Eurosport International.
He joined Discovery in 2005 as CFO for Discovery Commerce, where he led the company's efforts to evaluate and implement strategic alternatives for the division.
