Discovery taps programming exec
Company veteran Kevin Bennett named senior vpDiscovery Communications veteran Kevin Bennett has been named senior vp programming at flagship Discovery Channel, overseeing all aspects of the network's programming.
Bennett, who will report to Clark Bunting, president/GM of Discovery Channel and president of Science Channel, replaces Ken Schwab, who recently left the company.
The executive reshuffling follows the major executive reorganization at Discovery Communication in December, which included the exit of Discovery Channel's president and general manager John Ford after two years on the job. Schwab was brought to Discovery by Ford in November 2008.
Bennett has been with Discovery Communications for 14 years and is given credit for helping to develop Discovery Health Channel, Discovery Times Channel and Investigation Discovery.
"Kevin's history with Discovery Communications and deep knowledge of our brands make him invaluable to both the company and to the network," Bunting said.
