Discovery taps Stinchcomb exec vp for new media

Clint Stinchcomb has been promoted to executive vp and general manager for Discovery Communication's HDTV and new media businesses. A 14-year veteran at the company, Stinchcomb will oversee all programming, production, development and operations for Discovery HD Theater and Turbo, Discovery's new multiplatform brand in the U.S. Most recently, Stinchcomb served as the company's senior vp of new media operations. He will continue to manage new media operations and partnerships for the company's other platform businesses, including mobile, wireless, satellite radio and Discovery's newly re-launched video on demand service, Discovery on Demand.
