Discovery Communications has pinned executive vp stripes on a pair of execs in its ad sales division.
Scott Felenstein and Sharon O’Sullivan, who most recently held the title of senior vp national ad sales, have each been promoted to executive vp national ad sales. In their new roles, Felenstein will lead the national ad sales teams for Discovery Channel, Science Channel, Velocity, Military Channel and Destination America, and O’Sullivan will lead the national ad sales teams for TLC, Animal Planet, Investigation Discovery and Discovery Fit & Health.
The duo report to Joe Abruzzese, president of ad sales at Discovery.
Meanwhile, Scott Kohn has been upped to senior vp regional ad sales, overseeing the company’s Chicago, Atlanta and Detroit sales offices. He was previously vp ad sales, Midwest region, and reports to Ben Price, senior vp national ad sales.
“Year after year, Scott, Sharon and Scott have each demonstrated outstanding management skills, and the utmost quality of client service anywhere in our industry," Abruzzese said in a statement.
Felenstein joined Discovery in 2000 as vp national ad sales. Before that, he held positions at Excite.com and CBS.
O’Sullivan also joined Discovery as vp national ad sales in 1999, after holding positions at ESPN, FX and CBS.
Kohn, who joined Discovery in 1996 as an account executive in the New York office, began his career at Lowe & Partners.
